LEGO Wednesday is officially embracing minifigures this October, two years after the theme started, but this has been coming for about a year.
Aside from sharing a letter at the start of their names, LEGO Wicked and Wednesday have much in common, despite their differences in colour scheme. Both have featured predominantly mini-dolls in their models, with a mix of playsets and props to hide mini-dolls inside.
That’s about to change for Wednesday this October with the arrival of 76788 Nevermore Academy for £59.99 / $69.99 / € 69.99. The 890-piece set offers a microscale version of the series’ school, accompanied by a new Wednesday minifigure.
This new minifigure borrows the character’s mini-doll hair and the design that debuted in Fortnite beforehand. Wednesday is the only minifigure in the theme to speak of so far. More may well be on the way, looking at another theme.
Wicked and Wednesday have always been similar themes, starting with exceedingly comparable models and sharing a letter at the beginning of their names. Now, they’ve both debuted minifigures long after their start.
Wednesday’s timeframe for embracing minifigures is behind that of Wicked. Whereas the two themes started in 2024, and Wicked debuted minifigures in 2025, Wednesday has taken until 2026 to include minifigures in the theme.
75684 Welcome to Emerald City from 2024 was one of the first LEGO Wicked sets from 2024, back when it had only mini-dolls. Come 2025, that tactic changed, inserting minifigures into a couple of 18+ models, such as 75685 Emerald City Wall Art.
That build was accompanied by 75691 Glinda & Elphaba Bookends in September 2025. However, it goes to show that Wednesday can receive more minifigures in the future, provided the theme continues.
LEGO Wicked appears to be over, at least for now, with no new builds this year and its final models retiring in December. Wednesday will continue, with both of the new builds sticking around into 2027. We can only hope for a matching Enid minifigure to pair with Wednesday in the future.
For now, 76788 Nevermore Academy and the first Wednesday minifigure will launch on October 1 for £59.99 / $69.99 / € 69.99.
