LEGO Marvel’s latest bust brings a new film franchise under the LEGO Group’s umbrella, but skips any chance at a Tom Hardy minifigure, unlike DC 13 years ago.
The curtain has been lifted on 76356 Venom Bust, and much of the excitement has come from the first and only LEGO Sony Venom minifigure. This updated take on Venom is based on the character’s appearance in the multiple Venom movies, but is lacking any indication of Tom Hardy’s take on Eddie Brock, even through an alternate ‘We are Venom’ face print.
Unless there’s some surprise hidden from view in 76356 Venom Bust, the Venom minifigure is as depicted in the new bust. That’s fair, considering the subject matter of the model, but with so few models based on the Sony films, Eddie Brock continues to be a clear missed opportunity.
Funnily enough, there is a LEGO Tom Hardy minifigure out there, but it’s not from a Marvel model. LEGO DC’s The Dark Knight Rises 76001 The Bat vs. Bane: Tumbler Chase set comes with a Bane minifigure based on the movie.
Hardy depicts Bane in the film, making this his only minifigure despite the new Marvel set. While there’s a certain irony in DC achieving this while Marvel does not, it likely stems from the fact that Venom’s most iconic look is when the symbiote completely overtakes Eddie in the film.
There is some good news for those looking forward to 76356 Venom Bust, but hoping for an Eddie Brock minifigure. The Bane minifigure’s head won’t work for Eddie Brock, but there is a movie-adjacent Eddie minifigure in 2025’s 76324 Spider-Man vs. Oscorp. It even has Venom peeking over his shoulder, like in the films. The rest of the model is solely comic-based, though.
Switching the classic Venom minifigure head for the movie version for 76356 Venom Bust will get you as close as you currently can to a movie Eddie Brock minifigure. 76324 Spider-Man vs. Oscorp is available now for £119.99 / $139.99 / €129.99, and 76356 Venom Bust launches on July 1 for £44.99 / $49.99 / €49.99.
