LEGO Pokémon’s new 40887 Ditto as Squirtle: Movie Night gift-with-purchase is one of the best this year, and here’s how you can earn the charming build.

40887 Ditto as Squirtle: Movie Night is still available with orders of the new LEGO Pokémon SMART Play sets of £115 / $130 / €130. Our recent review of the build is filled with praise, and this model is not to be missed. All you need to do to earn it is pick a few SMART Play models up, and there are some great picks on offer.

These are all of the LEGO Pokémon SMART Play sets available right now, which you can combine into an order over the threshold for a free 40887 Ditto as Squirtle: Movie Night.

Here are a few suggested bundles to get over the required threshold, but without exceeding it too far. 40887 Ditto as Squirtle: Movie Night will be available until August 10 or while stocks last.

Pikachu and Mewtwo

A SMART Brick is required for many of the features in the new sets, and you can find one in 72164 Training House with Pikachu for £59.99 / $69.99 / €69.99. This build of the iconic Pokémon is featured in the set alongside a house shaped like the mascot and targets. You’ll also receive a SMART Brick, multiple tags, and a charger.

The Pokémon SMART Play sets are also good without the SMART Brick, including some great display options. 72163 Mewtwo’s Lab Break is one such set, featuring a complete vat model and even a Master Ball. Combine these two builds and your order will come to £119.98 / $139.98 / €139.98.

Jigglypuff, Charizard, and Jolteon

The £12.99 / $14.99 / €14.99 72159 Jigglypuff Concert is the most affordable of the new Pokémon SMART Play sets and on its own is not nearly enough to score the GWP. Thankfully, the other Pokémon SMART Play All-in-One model will help get it over the finish line. 

72167 Charizard vs. Jolteon Ultimate Battle costs £109.99 / $119.99 / €119.99 with 751 pieces and two SMART Bricks. These two sets together will net you more than enough for a full Pokémon battle, with a substitute figure ready to fill in. This combination will come to £122.98 / $134.98 / €134.98.

Charmander, Geodude, Bulbasaur, Bidoof, Cubone, and Gengar

72157 Charmander and Geodude’s Cavern Clash and 72155 Berry Bash with Bulbasaur and Bidoof are both £17.99 / $19.99 / €19.99, featuring some smaller figures from the theme with a Mystery Dungeon aesthetic about them. 72166 Cubone and Gengar’s Spooky Showdown comes with another smaller Pokémon figure as well as the massive Gengar for £79.99 / $89.99 / €89.99.

Blend these three builds into one order for a Pokémon boss battle that will cost £115.97. This combination won’t be quite enough to earn the Squirtle GWP in the US or Europe, but you can always substitute one of the $19.99 / €9.99 models for 72156 Trainer’s Buggy Adventure with Squirtle.

Charmander, Geodude, Sprigatito, Quaxly, Fuecoco, Umbreon, and Garchomp

72157 Charmander and Geodude’s Cavern Clash can also be combined with the £29.99 / $34.99 / €34.99 72158 Sprigatito, Fuecoco and Quaxly Battle for a mix of old and new Partner Pokémon.

Add 72165 Umbreon vs. Garchomp Championship Battle to the mix for £69.99 / $79.99 / €79.99 and the bundle will total £117.97, but similarly won’t be expensive enough for the free set in the US and Europe.

Mew, Mewtwo, and Jigglypuff

The final bundle we’ll highlight starts with 72159 Jigglypuff Concert, again, but otherwise features a mix of mythical Pokémon. 72161 Drone Search for Mythical Mew costs £44.99 / $49.99 / €49.99, featuring a Mew figure and a larger drone to discover Mew.
