The LEGO Group loves celebrating anniversaries, and 2027 is packed with landmark milestones that could inspire the two rumoured LEGO Architecture sets.
Earlier today, we reported that two new 3,000-piece LEGO Architecture sets are rumoured to launch in March and April 2027. While we said the possibilities are ‘almost limitless’ – which is certainly true – we can at least speculate on a few likely candidates.
With sets such as the upcoming 21065 Sagrada Família celebrating the legacy of architect Antoni Gaudí, it’s possible the LEGO Group could apply a similar approach here. Of course, this is purely speculation, and the rumours themselves should be taken with a pinch of salt.
Here are five landmarks that could fill the two rumoured LEGO Architecture slots.
Golden Gate Bridge

The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco celebrates its 90th anniversary in 2027, having officially opened in May 1937.
A little over 3,000 pieces could allow the LEGO Group to create a slightly smaller bridge than 21067 Tower Bridge while still capturing the landmark’s impressive scale and iconic silhouette.
Louvre Pyramid

The LEGO Group has produced smaller versions of the Louvre before, but not for more than a decade – and never at this sort of scale.
Rather than celebrating the pyramid itself, a large-scale set could mark the 110th anniversary of architect I. M. Pei’s birth. Focusing primarily on the iconic glass pyramid, with part of the surrounding palace included, would make for an impressive display model.
Space Needle

Opening in April 1962, Seattle’s Space Needle celebrates its 65th anniversary in 2027, making it a fitting candidate for the rumoured Spring release.
Its instantly recognisable flying saucer-inspired observation deck would translate well into LEGO bricks, while the 3,000-piece budget could create an impressively tall display model.
Flatiron Building

Completed in 1902, New York City’s Flatiron Building turns 125 in 2027. The LEGO Group has recreated it before, but not for around a decade.
It would be fascinating to see how LEGO designers tackle the building’s distinctive triangular footprint at a much larger scale, and a 3,000-piece model should provide plenty of room for intricate architectural details.
Florence Cathedral

The LEGO Group has already shown it’s willing to tackle religious landmarks with sets such as 21061 Notre-Dame de Paris and 21065 Sagrada Família.
The Florence Cathedral – particularly Brunelleschi’s famous dome, the world’s largest masonry dome – would be a worthy addition to that lineup. While the cathedral itself doesn’t celebrate a major anniversary in 2027, the year marks the 650th anniversary of the birth of the dome’s renowned architect, Filippo Brunelleschi, making it a fitting source of inspiration.
Again, these are all purely speculative suggestions, and the rumours themselves should be treated with a pinch of salt until the LEGO Group officially confirms anything.
