A new rumour states that LEGO Sonic the Hedgehog and Animal Crossing may have received their final models over the weekend, with apparent retirements for 2027.
Buggyleaks, as reposted by itsjustajoe, theorises that two of the LEGO Group’s current video game themes are due to conclude in 2027, after stating that they have nothing scheduled for early 2027.
It’s rumoured that both Sonic the Hedgehog and Animal Crossing will receive no new sets in the first half of 2027. When paired with the fact that both themes’ recent releases are due to retire in 2027, the source posits that this is the end for both lines.
They state that the remaining products in both Sonic the Hedgehog and Animal Crossing will retire in July 2027, but our list has one set for both remaining on shelves until December 2027. These would be 40926 SEGA Genesis Console and 77059 Timmy & Tommy’s Fun Day Out.
Whether all of the remaining models in both themes retire in December or July of 2027, the rumour of no new sets for both earlier in the year isn’t a good sign for their futures.
