And whether or not you are into LEGO Pokémon all that much, prepare to fall in love with this particular GWP creature, Ditto, in all his adorable glory. As a Pokémon, Ditto’s actual form is a short, purple blob with that distinct, simple smiling expression. But its ability is to be able to temporarily mimic the appearance of any object or creature, and if that’s another Pokémon, then it can also take on the characteristics and attacks that are known to that Pokémon. Ditto copies other Pokémon, and the only way – at least in LEGO form – to tell it apart from the original is in that expression.
Ditto is a simple yet fun Pokémon that translates perfectly into a simple yet fun LEGO Pokémon gift-with-purchase. It’s built exactly the same as Squirtle from 72156 Trainer’s Buggy Adventure with Squirtle except for a different printed face and a different SMART Play tag unique to Ditto. Whilst it is SMART Play compatible, a SMART Brick is not included, and it remains a charming little set even without it.
The theming, design and execution of this idea make for one of the best gift-with-purchases of the year so far, and well worth the qualifying spend to pick up, while stocks last.
